Child Safety Policy

My high School prioritizes the safety, happiness, and empowerment of children. We uphold a culture of respect and support for all children, staff, and volunteers. Our commitment lies in ensuring the safety, participation, and empowerment of every child without compromise.

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards child abuse. Any allegations or safety concerns are handled with utmost seriousness and in accordance with our comprehensive policies and procedures. As part of our legal and moral obligations, we promptly involve authorities when there are concerns about a child's safety, adhering rigorously to established protocols.

At My high School, we are dedicated to preventing child abuse by proactively identifying risks early on and taking decisive action to mitigate them. Our organization implements robust human resources and recruitment practices to minimize the risk of child abuse by both new and existing staff, volunteers, affiliated organizations, and host families.

Continuous training and education are integral to our approach. We regularly educate all personnel involved in program development and implementation about the risks associated with child abuse to ensure heightened awareness and vigilance.

Furthermore, we are committed to ensuring the cultural safety of Aboriginal children, those from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with disabilities. Specific policies and procedures are in place to support our personnel in achieving these commitments effectively.

At My high School, safeguarding children is not just a priority but a fundamental responsibility embedded in every aspect of our operations.

In the spirit of reconciliation, My High School acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country across Australia and New Zealand their enduring connections to land, sea, and community. We honour and pay our respects to their Elders, both past and present, and extend this respect to all Maori, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our community today.
